Film visa

A film visa is issued for the purpose of filming a feature film / reality TV and web show / series, advertising on TV Shows / Shows and Web Shows / Series in India. The application for such cases will be decided on a case-by-case basis only after approval of the consulate.

It will not be necessary to register with FRRO or FRO if the stay does not exceed 180 days. If the applicant comes to India with the intention of staying for more than 180 days, the applicant should register with FRRO or FRO within two weeks.

Required Documents:

1. Passport valid for at least 180 days with at least two blank pages.
2. Two identical photos in Indian format 5 x 5 cm  (Requirement of photograph for download)
3. Completed application form & additional form
4. Four copies of the detailed script for a feature film and detailed concept on TV show / TV series, details of the film crew and film locations.
5. A statement of intent to mention the filming of the film in India in relation to the production schedule or the dates of the shoot, details of the cast and crew for the purpose of the production, location chosen and a list of the filming equipment you are bringing to India.

A documentary film license may take up to 8 weeks from the filing date of the application.
